I love being a Group Fitness Instructor & helping people to feel amazing!
Hello, and thank you for visiting my page! I’d love to share a little bit about me and how I became a Health and Fitness Coach.
In my early twenties, I began experiencing severe back pain and was later diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my lumbar spine. Around the same time, I was also managing a mental health condition that had developed during childhood. Working regular 9–5 jobs in retail and catering was becoming increasingly difficult, and deep down, I knew I wanted to do something more meaningful and rewarding — something that would allow me to help others.
In my early thirties, I developed knee pain due to hypermobility and was referred to an exercise referral programme. That experience changed everything. I learned how to manage my pain and conditions through exercise, and I began researching the best workouts for knee and back health. I tried various classes and discovered that Water Aerobics and Body Conditioning worked best for me — and I absolutely loved them!
As I grew fitter and stronger, I noticed a huge improvement in my mental health. I felt happier, more confident, and exercise quickly became my passion. I realised that keeping up this routine was key to maintaining both my physical and emotional wellbeing — and I wanted to help others experience those same benefits.
So, I began my journey into the fitness industry. I started by achieving my Level 2 Fitness Instructing qualification, where I also learned about healthy nutrition. Having struggled with yo-yo dieting and an unhealthy relationship with food, this knowledge helped me improve my own eating habits. I then progressed to Level 3 Personal Training and GP Referral, as my goal was to support others managing medical conditions and chronic pain.
Because of my love for Water Aerobics, I became a qualified Water Aerobics Instructor and was fortunate to volunteer on a health referral programme in Islington, where I gained valuable experience working with people who had a range of medical conditions. I went on to work with the programme for three years, until lockdown — by which time I was completing my Level 2 Exercise to Music qualification.
Today, I’m proud to teach fun, inclusive fitness classes across the community, helping people of all ages and abilities discover the joy of movement. In Islington, I offer 1:2:1 personal training sessions in local parks, Clubbercise and small group Pilates courses- as well as fitness classes for older adults in partnership with a local health charity Healthy Generations, and I teach a Sit Fitness class at St John’s Evangelistic church.
